How To Attract Members To A New Dating Site
Starting a new dating website is reasonably easy. Get the software, customize it and put it online. It may be done in a few days. But what is a dating site without members? How do you attract members to a different site? Which is the hard part. New Dating Site
Not many people know your web site exists. Those who stumble on your site will likely be deterred from the realisation there are not many or no members to interact with. Until you have ample money to throw to market the site, it may be that the site will languish until it is possible to help make your site well known or searchable.
Dating software vendors are acutely aware of this. Their option is to design the program to permit the generation of fake members to populate the web page to give the semblance of the active thriving community. Unfortunately, people can easily see through this deception and they can not really impressed. I really do not recommend this method.
It will be the chicken or the egg dilemma. If they realize that there are very few members, people will not join. But how can you get enough members in the first place to entice men and women to join. This is the predicament that I am facing with my own, personal site.
I have come to the realisation that there is absolutely no fast solution. It will take effort and time to promote the website and there is a lot of learning involved. First thing I learnt was that Adwords and similar pay-per-click advertisements are just not practical for small companies from a financial standpoint. In my ignorance, I had been thinking within the vicinity of countless cents per click. Are you aware that it may cost anything as much as $6 or even more per click for the ad to show up in page one? That is certainly per click - New Dating Site
the visitor might not even sign-up in any way!
So, paid search is out of the question. I am just focusing all my efforts on organic search which suggests seeking to gain a high ranking in the search engines for relevant keywords. If people can find me in the search engines, then visitor numbers will go up. When visitor numbers reach a critical mass, then the likelihood is that I will be able to start attracting signups.
This is what I actually have done so far:
Exchanged links with other dating sites. I will perform the same goes with other unrelated sites as there is some indication it is just as important.
List in online business directories
Write articles to submit to articles directories - this is one of them
Took part in forums
Added my hyperlink to Squidoo.com lenses (member pages)
Added h1 headers to each and every page of my site using keywords
Submitted a sitemap to Google using Google Webmaster Tools
I am just also continually scouring the web for first time methods for search engine optimization (SEO) and learning something totally new in the process. I have had some small success and that i feel that it will function in time. At this time, my dating site ranks between 80 and 200 for four keywords there are small improvements everyday. There is certainly light at the end of the tunnel! I am just hopeful.
